Walk to Fight Childhood Obesity

It is Saturday evening and I am just north of Wilmington, Ohio. We started this morning in Morrow, Ohio. Ohio has many beautiful parts. It was peaceful making our way uphill from Morrow to Sligo, Ohio. The people at the Sligo Marathon gas station were exceptionally kind to us.
Also, the Ohio State Troopers were diligent, checking on our group of weary walkers appoximately every hour or two.
I am off to bed to get a little rest before starting tomorrow morning.

Audit for Hamilton County Jobs and Family First

Recently the state of Ohio released an audit for Hamilton County Jobs and Family First. The audit revealed over 200 million dollars in overpayments and an additional questionable amount of 1.5 billion in reimbursements to Hamilton County. I have called for a Public Forum and invited both Hamilton County and the Stae of Ohio Departments of Jobs and Family first to answers questions for the community. Do you think the community deserves answers to the information contained in the audit?

Escalating Crime Rates in Urban Communities

As summer approaches, one can not help but to notice the rising crime rates in urban communities. What role should the state play in addressing this problem? The first step is for policy makers to acknowledge the escalating problem; followed by working closely with city officials and concerned citizens to create positive solutions for this issue. The time for ignoring this ever growing dilemma is gone, and the time for action is now.

A radio spot is now running that asks voters to request the ballot with Blackwell's name. I urge all Democratic voters to not be fooled. On Tuesday, May 2nd make sure you request the right ballot. Ask for the Democratic Primary ballot so that you can vote for me and our Democratic slate of candidates. It is important that this clarification be shared with every voter. The Democratic Party has local and statewide races that are important to the future of the State of Ohio. Don't be misled request a Democratic Ballot on May 2nd. Vote!

Hamilton County Democratic Party Endorsement!

I am very appreciative of the Hamilton County Democratic Party's
endoresement of Eric Kearney for the May 2nd Democratic Primary. The Executive
Committe met on Tuesday March 22nd and during this meeting my opponent State
Representative Catherine Barrett announced her withdrawal from the Primary.
She made a very courageous speech and call for healing of the Democratic
party. I was very humbled by her remarks and extremely grateful for call
for unity in the Democratic Party for the elections in 2006. I am grateful
for the suppport and look forward to the opportunity to meet with all
members of executive committee who expressed concern with my committment to
being a dedicated Democrat. I would like to encourage everyone to get to
know me in the upcoming weeks so that they can understand for themselves my
comittment to the Democratic principles of the Democratic Party.

This week I introduced legislation to require child booster seats be worn by children 4-8 years old or under 4'9".

The safety of the children in the State of Ohio will be protected with the passage of this bill. I look forward to hearing your feedback.

Welcome to my blog

I am very interested in your thoughts, comments and suggestions on the issues I address in the Ohio Senate. In the Eric Kearney Campaign blog, I will post topics for you to provide your thoughts, ideas, and suggestions.
Soon, the Ohio Senate will re-consider a bill which will require voters to present I. D. Cards, such as a driver's license, at the polls prior to voting. Some argue that this is stop voting fraud.
While others argue that it will suppress voter participation. What do you think? Please email ekearney@erickearney.com with your confidential feedback.
